21st Century Buys Brill's Newspaper Assets

21st Century Newspapers, Inc., a Michigan-based publisher of three daily newspapers and 74 non-daily publications, today announced its acquisition of the newspaper assets of Brill Media Company headquartered in Mt. Pleasant, Mich., including the Morning Sun daily newspaper and newspapers in Traverse City, Charlevoix, Gaylord and Tawas City as well as many communities in central and northern Michigan. With this acquisition, 21st Century now operates Michigan's largest cluster of newspapers/publications and has the broadest geographic representation of any newspaper group in the state. 21st Century also is one of the largest newspaper groups in the Midwest and among the largest in the United States.
