Country Home Magazine To Host "Be Creative!" Event in Central Park

In an effort to publicize its October 2005 "Creativity Issue," Country Home Magazine has announced that it will be co-hosting an event dubbed "Be Creative!" in New York City's Central Park on October 1st.

The event, to be held in Central Park's Rumsey Playfield on October 1st from 10:00 a.m. until 5 p.m., will be hosted by Country Home Editor in Chief Carol Sheehan and Creative Director Mary Emmerling.

In addition to a live performance by musician Mary Chapin Carpenter, the event will feature such items as Country Home Style Editor Matthew Mead outlining fall decorating ideas with the fruits of the season, Shabby Chic Founder Rachel Ashwell demonstrating gift-wrapping techniques and special occasion tabletops, and TLC's "While You Were Out" host Leslie Segrete opining on creative fabric options for the home.

That day's sponsors will include KitchenAid, Wish-Bone, Purpose Skin Care, Natuzzi, and Waverly. Country Home's partners for the afternoon will be Time Out New York Kids, City Parks Foundation, W Hotel, Borders, and Whole Foods.

Proceeds from the event and a silent auction will go to benefit the City Parks Foundation, which is attempting to re-invigorate New York City's parks and the neighborhoods where they reside.
