In a step toward the creation of a seamless North American satellite radio footprint, the Canadian cabinet has upheld a decision by the federal broadcast regulator to grant two licenses for the launch
of satellite radio services in Canada, reports Reuters, citing an unnamed source. The Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission previously approved applications on June 16 from
Sirius Canada and Canadian Satellite Radio.
