Newspaper publishing giant New York Times Co. Wednesday announced another diversification into electronic media, acquiring KAUT-TV, Oklahoma City, from Viacom. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the new station will give the Times Co. a so-called duopoly in the market. KAUT-TV, which is currently a UPN affiliate, will join NBC affiliate KFOR-TV, an existing Times Co.-owned station in the market. -- Joe Mandese
