Mobile Startup Sells Flowers Over Cellphones

  • October 19, 2005
Mobile company Juice Wireless on Tuesday debuted "mGifts," a program for retailers to market their products directly to consumers who have opted-in to Juice's mobile birthday reminder service. FTD.com, a provider of "floral products and services," is the first retailer to use mGifts. So now, when a user receives a reminder on their cell phone to call their mom on her birthday, Juice accompanies the note with a friendly recommendation to buy her flowers and a teddy bear from FTD. Interested consumers can buy mom's gift via text message, or just call the order in.
