Penn Media on Monday announced that it has signed four sponsors within the first week of offering advertising on its video portal, EVTV1. These charter sponsors--eDiets, 800 Pet Meds, Ask Jeeves, and
InstaTrim--cover all 16 channels of content available on the video portal. Penn Media's move into selling pre-roll video commercials is new, according to the company. Its experience lies in selling
advertising inside its e-zine network, which has been in operation since 1998 and now claims 62 million subscribers.
