News Corp. Chairman Rupert Murdoch Tuesday told reporters it is unlikely that John Malone's Liberty Media Corp. would make a bid to acquire News Corp., and that News Corp. would not make an offer to
acquire newspaper giant Knight Ridder, which put itself on the block recently. Murdoch's comments followed the company's first shareholders meeting in Australia since reincorporating as a U.S.-based
corporation.
