Online spending from Nov. 1 through Dec. 21 reached $17.48 billion, a 24 percent increase from the same time last year, according to comScore Networks. That surge was even sharper in the middle of the
month; for the week ending Dec. 18, online shopping revenues climbed by 29 percent from the same time last year.
