Most online shoppers--54 percent--completed their holiday purchases by Dec. 16, according to a recent report by Goldman Sachs, Nielsen//NetRatings and Harris Interactive. The companies also reported
that, in the first seven weeks of the holiday shopping season, apparel and clothing accounted for $4.7 billion in online sales, followed by computer hardware/peripherals ($3.7 billion) and consumer
electronics (also $3.7 billion).
