As a category, love poems drew more searches last week than did other popular Valentine's Day staples--flowers, e-cards, and lingerie, according to new data by research company Hitwise. One lesson for
marketers: they should incorporate devices that assist people in giving voice to their emotions. "Purveyors of gift items could engage users further by adding site content that helped buyers express
their feelings in words as well as goods," said Bill Tancer, general manager, global research for Hitwise, in a statement.
