UPN Can't Get 'Party' Started, Show Goes On Hiatus

The party appears to be over. Kristin Cavallari, breakout star of MTV reality smash "Laguna Beach," failed to inject enough juice into UPN's "Get This Party Started," forcing the show to be placed on hiatus--often a euphemism for canceled.
Only two new episodes of "Party," a reality show about event planning, aired. And after last week's episode plunged 50 percent from the Feb. 7 premiere in the target 18-to-34 demo, UPN pulled the plug. Officially, UPN says the show will return, although no date is set. "Party's" Tuesday time slot will be filled by the film "Black Night," starring Martin Lawrence.
Cavallari's debut outside the reality realm--as a guest star on UPN drama "Veronica Mars"--has also been delayed. The episode was scheduled for last week, but has been bumped to March 15.
