DoubleClick Buys British Software Company

DoubleClick Inc. has tendered a cash offer of about $12.9 million to acquire a British marketing automation software company. The company, Protagona plc, would have to drop its plan to be acquired by Swetenhams Marketing Services Ltd. DoubleClick wants to integrate Protagona’s Ensemble product suite with its existing suite for multichannel marketing campaigns.
