Vivendi Joins Forces with Radio Free Virgin

Vivendi Universal Net USA and Radio Free Virgin have announced a partnership to jointly develop and deliver high-quality Internet radio products for VUNet USA’s online music and media properties, including MP3.com and RollingStone.com. “Internet radio is one of our users’ most requested features,” said Derrick Oien, president of VUNet USA’s music & media group. “It is a great way for fans to discover and enjoy new music -- and offers brand marketers an excellent opportunity to get involved with a large, active consumer audience. MeasureCast ranks Radio Free Virgin as one of the top Internet radio networks, with nearly 4 million hours of music programming served each month. VUNet USA’s music and media group provide world-class digital entertainment to tens of millions of media consumers each month through its widely popular Internet properties, which include MP3.com, RollingStone.com, MP4.com, EMusic.com and GetMusic.com. The two companies plan to launch customized radio channels on several of VUNet USA’s music network properties later this fall.
