Court: Google Image Search Likely Infringes Copyright

A federal district court judge Tuesday ruled that Google's image search likely violates the copyright rights of Perfect 10, an adult publisher. Perfect 10 sued Google in November 2004, charging that the search engine's image search feature, which displayed images allegedly pirated from Perfect 10, infringed its copyrights. The judge said he intended to issue an injunction against Google, but gave Google and Perfect 10 until March 8 to propose terms of the injunction.
