A new premium information network called Congoo lets users search premium or restricted content from trade magazines, newspapers and other publications. Users download a browser toolbar which they can
use to gain access content. The free service only gives users access to a few articles. The idea is to whet consumers' appetites so they will buy subscriptions from publishers. The company launched
its Congoo NetPass this week; so far its publisher list includes TheStreet.com,
Editor & Publisher,
The Boston Globe and
The Chicago Tribune.
