Orbitz, Cheaptickets.com To Increase Ad Spend More Than 30%

Executives from Cendant, which operates online travel agencies Orbitz and CheapTickets.com, this week told analysts at Merrill Lynch that it would spend between 30 and 40 percent more to market its online travel properties this quarter than in the first quarter of 2005. Cendant executives also said that domestic consumer bookings are up between 18 and 22 percent so far this year.
