'Net Neutrality' Proposal Fails In House Subcommittee

A Congressional subcommittee rejected a proposal to ban Internet service providers from blocking or slowing down competing Web sites and services. The proposal, an amendment to a telecom reform bill, was voted down 23-8 by the Telecommunications and Internet Subcommittee of the House Energy and Commerce Committee. Separately, Sen. Ron Wyden recently introduced a separate net neutrality bill.
