Yahoo Sports To Stream N.H.L., Tour de France

Yahoo Sports has begun carrying live coverage of select N.H.L. playoff games, per a deal announced Wednesday that involved OLN, the Comcast-owned cable TV outlet. The N.H.L. and OLN--which owns partial rights to the games--are letting Yahoo carry playoff games through the tournament's first two rounds, along with complementary coverage, including daily, five-minute reports during the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Per the deal, Yahoo will also stream live N.H.L. games in 2007, including three games per week during both the regular season and the initial rounds of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

"Video content has become a core part of the online sports experience," David Katz, head of sports and entertainment for Yahoo, said in a statement.

Presently, Yahoo is also offering programming from OLN's coverage of the Giro D'Italia, AMA Motocross, and Arena Football League. Later, Yahoo will put out video recaps and updates from OLN's coverage of the Tour de France, the Davis Cup, and the Boston Marathon, among other events under OLN's purview.
