Nielsen Parent Gets Lower Rating, The Credit Kind

In the wake of its buy-out by a consortium of private equity firms, Moody's Investors Service Friday slashed VNU's credit rating due to the increased debt that would be generated by the deal. The lower rating would make it more difficult for VNU to borrow to fund acquisitions or operations. VNU is the parent company of Nielsen Media Research, ACNielsen and various trade publications.
