Online Service Matches TV Stations With Media Buyers

  • July 25, 2006
SPOTBUY.TV debuted yesterday as an online negotiating marketplace for the television spot business. The service, www.spotbuy.tv, puts television stations and cable operators together with media buyers and retailers. "Our proprietary service is a one-of-its-kind," says Mike Harding, managing member of MMI Advertising. "For the first time, media buyers and retailers seeking television advertising offers and media outlets with inventory to sell can post, negotiate and strike a deal online in real time." SPOTBUY.TV focuses on television deals in 210 markets, but is expandable to include network and syndication advertising, says Harding. The service extends beyond traditional spot time offers of 10-, 15- and 30-second ads to include direct response, paid programming, Webcasting, product placement and podcast ad availabilities. SPOTBUY.TV is compatible with the eBiz, XML and Ad-ID standards established by Television Bureau of Advertising and the American Association of Advertising Agencies.
