Aegis Reports 'Comfortable' Revenue Gains, Cites Surge In Net New Billings From Carat

Aegis Group, the parent of Carat and the Vizeum media agency networks, Wednesday a 10.9 percent gain in first quarter revenues. Through the first four months, the company said revenue is tracking "comfortably" ahead of the same period in 2003 due to a recovery in all of its key advertising markets. Aegis also reported that Carat won $285 million in net new business during the first quarter, up from $103 million in net new billings during the first quarter of 2003. Flagship Carat currently is a dark horse contender for Procter & Gamble's global communications planning account.
