Google Gains Search Share

Google last month continued to gain market share in search, according to recent data by both comScore qSearch and Nielsen//NetRatings. comScore reported that Google captured 45.1% of 6.6 billion total searches last month, up from August's 44.1% and July's 43.7%. Nielsen//NetRatings pegged Google's share as even higher, at 50% of September queries. Yahoo's search share dropped to 28.1%, from 28.7% in August and 28.8% in July, according to comScore. Nielsen//NetRatings reported that Yahoo garnered 23.4% of queries in September.
