'Nightly News' Retains No. 1 Spot, 'Couric' Distant Third

"NBC Nightly News With Brian Williams" continues to hold the No. 1 spot in broadcast evening news. During the week of Dec. 18, "Nightly News" led with a 2.4/9 rating in the key 25-54 demo, per Nielsen Media Research. "ABC World News" retains second place, with a 2.2/9 rating. And, despite a first-week boost, "CBS Evening News With Katie Couric" has stayed a distance third, with a 1.9/7 in the demo. Her ratings are down slightly from last year, when Bob Schieffer took the anchor seat.
