Huffington Post is inviting candidates for the 2008 presidential election to hold an online debate, the blog-based news site said Friday. Huffington Post has contacted Democratic and Republican party
officials about organizing a debate for each side. Last week, the site hired a managing editor, BBC senior journalist Elinor Shields, to ramp up its output of original reporting and content. Since
securing $5 million in venture capital last summer, Huffington has worked to expand her site with video content and staff additions.
