Ruckus Expands Ad-Supported Music Service

Ruckus Network Monday opened up its online college music service for free to anyone with an e-mail address that ends in ".edu." Previously, colleges and universities had to pay to license the Ruckus service to give students access to its 2.1 million music tracks. Now the two-year-old music service will be completely ad-supported. So far, only about 82 colleges had signed up for the Ruckus service, which allows users to share playlists and create profiles besides downloading songs.
