  • January 29, 2007

Nora McAniff, the co-chief operating officer of Time Inc., announced Friday that she's leaving the company. Her responsibilities will be divided between two newly promoted executive vice-presidents, Sylvia Auton and Stephanie George. In addition to her current role as CEO of IPC Media, Auton is assuming responsibility for Southern Progress Corp. and business duties at All You and Life magazines. George will retain her current responsibilities as president of In Style, Real Simple, and Essence and will also take over some business and strategy roles for People and Entertainment Weekly. McAniff explained her decision: " When I realized I was about to reach my 25th anniversary with Time, I decided it might be time for a brief intermission between acts." -- Erik Sass
