In his first major deal since joining CBS as president of CBS Interactive late last year, deal-maker Quincy Smith has struck a strategic partnership with online virtual reality developer The Electric Sheep Co. As part of the deal, CBS has become one of the backers of a $7 million round of funding for the two-year-old company. The deal follows several collaborations, including an adaptation of Showtime Network's 'The L-Word in Second Life', as well as a "machinima" promotion for CBS' Two and Half Men TV series, filmed in Second Life, which aired in a Super Bowl XLI pre-game spot earlier this month.
