AT&T U-verse Adds Scripps To Lineup

The AT&T U-verse lineup just got bigger.

The communications company added the Scripps Networks' HD and on-demand programming to its stable, including HGTV, Food Network, DIY Network, Fine Living TV Network and Great American Country. Plus, select customers can also receive the HD version of Food and HGTV nets.

Scripps programming will be featured in the U-verse VOD library each month.

Says Rob Thun, senior vice president of Programming, AT&T Operations: "Scripps Networks provides compelling and valuable content that will connect with AT&T U-verse customers." Through its subsidiaries--U-verse TV, AT&T Yahoo high-speed Internet and, in the future, VoIP services--AT&T expects to reach nearly 19 million households by the end of 2008.

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Touting his company's leadership in lifestyle shows, John Baird, Scripps executive vice president of affiliate sales and marketing, says AT&T U-verse customers can explore their culinary design and lifestyle interests by tapping "our programming and expertise."
