FBI and RIAA Team Up In Anti-Piracy Fight
Feb 19, 2004, 12:00 AM
The FBI and Recording Industry Association of America unveiled a voluntary, government-sanctioned anti-piracy seal and warning yesterday that can be included on various types of copyrighted music. Record companies can choose to include the seal on all copyrighted music they distribute to warn the public of the illegality of copying and distributing music without permission. For those that decide to include the seal, there are no placement restrictions. In the near future, consumers can expect to see the seal and the accompanying warning language in a variety of ways, including on tapes and CDs, CD packaging and accompanying digital files.
