NYMag.com Launches Culture Vulture, Agenda
From Vulture, NYmag.com's readers can expect a serious take on lowbrow culture and a frivolous take on highbrow fare through recaps of TV shows, original concert footage, and Web video with irreverent coverage of critics, theater buzz, along with news of book and movie deals as they happen.
Vulture joins NYmag.com's other daily offerings like its food blog Grub Street and Daily Intel. Vulture will be headed by Melissa Maerz, formerly of Spin, and Dan Kois, a freelance writer and former director of development for Scott Rudin Productions.
Agenda, meanwhile, is a daily e-mail newsletter guide to the city's arts and entertainment. It will present readers with six cultural highlights every day, handpicked by the magazine's staff of critics. Nymag's existing e-mail newsletters, including Best Bets Daily, Restaurant Insider, and New York Travels, have over 200,000 unique subscribers.
