According to a Reuters report, America Online settled its trademark dispute with Playboy Enterprises Inc. after an appeals court backed Playboy in litigation dating back five years. Terms of the
settlement were not disclosed. Playboy sued Excite Inc. and Netscape, claiming that the companies infringed on the trademarks "playboy" and "playmate." Netscape is now owned by AOL.
