Yahoo Launches Trip Recommendations Module

Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Yahoo Travel is launching a module called
Trip Recommendations timed with Memorial Day and summer travel season.
The new service offers "today's picks," a list of 10 destinations personalized to the individual visiting the site. The module includes a social networking element, with links to air and hotel deals, weather, travel tips from Yahoo users.
A "Show Me" drop-down box provides users with more theme-driven suggestions in categories such as beach, nearby, art/architecture and nightlife.
These recommendations are fueled by a new tagging feature in Trip Planner. The new online site also includes, among other features, a Yahoo Maps function, that allows maps to be superimposed to show detail.
