over various matters, like corporate governance and her desire to closely tie executive compensation with shareholder returns. Another issue involves funds held by National Amusements -- the
Massachusetts-based theater chain -- and how they have been spent. Many Redstone spats end up in court. A spokesperson for Shari says: "We certainly hope that it never comes to that point. But [she]
will protect her rights and those of her children."
The battle raises doubts about future control of the media behemoth, although in one interview, Sumner says it is "likely" that Shari would be on top "when I'm gone."
