  • October 4, 2002
According to Reuters, Univision said Thursday that about 17 percent more advertisers have signed advanced deals for its new season amid growing interest in reaching U.S. Latinos. "We have 120 advertisers this year, just for the upfront," Ronald Furman, the company's executive vice president of network sales and marketing told reporters on the sidelines of a Goldman Sachs conference in New York. "Last year we had 103 advertisers." The advertiser count includes the company's two broadcast networks, Univision and recently launched Telefutura, and its cable unit Galavision. This suggests Univision will likely surpass 2001-02 upfront sales results of $550 million.
