Small World Partners With Limelight For Community Video Delivery

Austin-based Small World Labs, a tech firm that provides social and professional networking software, has partnered with Limelight Networks to add a video content delivery component to its suite of community-building tools.

Using Tempe, AZ-based Limelight's content delivery network, Small World's clients can now upload and distribute user-generated and other video throughout their social networks. The addition rounds out the company's offering, which includes such components as forums, profile-creation, podcasting and photo galleries.

The Dallas Morning News, for example, has used Small World Labs' application to build a citizen journalism site, called NeighborsGo.com. Users can post blogs, upload photos and contribute to news stories that are focused on the various neighborhoods in the Dallas metro area.

"Small World Labs has been more than just a vendor to us on our project, they've been a partner. Video is an integral part of our users' experience on NeighborsGo.com and this upgrade is just what we were looking for," said Fran Wills, senior vice president of The Dallas Morning News Interactive.
