AOL Launches Mobile Search In Beta

  • August 16, 2007
AOL has launched a beta test of its new AOL® Mobile Search service, providing results in such areas as local listings (from AOL CityGuide), maps (from Mapquest), weather, movie times (from AOL MovieFone), news, stock quotes, and images.

AOL said that a "basic" version of the search works on almost all cell phones that come with an Internet browser. There's also an "Enhanced" version for Windows Mobile users, which uses pocket Internet Explorer to display search results under relevant tabs.

Users can access the beta test by going to wap.aol.com and selecting "1" for Search.
