Sun-Times Tabs Clickshare For Paid Electronic Edition

Bucking the trend of newspapers dropping online subscription models (i.e., The New York Times' TimesSelect, The Wall Street Journal's wsj.com), the Chicago Sun Times plans to launch a paid electronic edition, which will provide its print subscribers with unrestricted access.

Massachusetts-based Clickshare Service Corp. said it has been chosen by the paper to provide a subsciption management platform, Web capture and processing of print subscriptions.

"We chose Clickshare for our electronic edition because we wanted to give our print customers the added benefit of our E-edition while increasing our paid circulation," said John Cary, senior director of online operations for the Sun-Times.
