Pearls For The People: Tiffany Lowers The Bar

  • October 19, 2007
In an effort to make luxury ever more accessible, Tiffany & Co. is launching a new format, tentatively called Tiffany & Co. Collections. The new format, which won't sell engagement rings, "will reach out clearly to the self-purchase customer, with a selling environment that celebrates Tiffany style."

The company says it will open as many as 70 of the smaller stores--about 2,000 square feet--in the U.S. Currently, Tiffany has 68 stores in the U.S., and says the new format won't interfere with its current plans to open five to seven larger (5,000 square feet) stores each year.
