The Sci Fi Channel has found a friend in cyberspace. The network said its Web site had 3.4 million unique users in October, a record for scifi.com.

The figure represented a 15% increase over October 2006, the network said, and was up 34% versus September.

Last month, to further its cross-platform pollination, the site featured content linked with the network's Halloween programming, including "Ghost Hunters Live" and a "13 Days of Halloween" marathon. The "Ghost Hunters" site section including an "interactive headquarters," which the network said garnered 2.1 million page views on Halloween.

This month, it offered a section connected to "Battlestar Galactica: Razor."

The network is part of NBC Universal, and is in 93 million homes. In addition to "Battlestar Galactica," it offers shows such as "The 4400" and "Stargate Atlantis." NBCU has indicated that with its flagship network struggling, its entertainment cable channels are a critical growth engine.

SciFi.com streams full episodes of shows, such as "Ghost Hunters," "Galactica" and "Eureka." It also offers chat rooms and a "Rumors" section about sci-fi entertainment.
