Game Boy: Spike TV Does Deal With Keighley

Viacom's Spike network said it has a new development deal with the host of its soon-to-be-rebranded video game information show "Game Head."

As part of the agreement, Geoff Keighley will serve as an executive producer of "GameTrailers TV with Geoff Keighley," a re-brand that incorporates the name of the Web site Viacom's MTV Networks acquired in late 2005.

The fifth season of the weekly "magazine-style" show debuts tomorrow. The season will come with further integration with GameTrailers.com.

Keighley's deal also calls for him to develop new programming and serve as consultant for the Spike TV "Video Game Awards," as well as host specials.

"It has long been my hope to sign Geoff to a larger overall deal so we can make better use of his talents across all of our properties," said Jon Slusser, senior vice president of Spike digital and video games. "Geoff's experience as a journalist and passion for video games make him one of the best gaming experts in the field."
