Scion Chooses Viewpoint

Viewpoint Corporation, a provider of interactive media technology and services, today announced that Scion, the new Toyota brand, has chosen Viewpoint Technology to create a customizable online vehicle presentation for the launch of Scion and its new vehicles. According to company officials, the Scion brand targets the web-savvy market that wants and expects personalization and entertainment. To meet the demands of this audience, Scion turned to Viewpoint to create interactive 3D digital representations of its first two production models, xA and xB, for its consumer website, www.scion.com. This section of the site allows visitors to customize a vehicle by choosing from among the approximately 40 different accessories available at launch. Visitors to www.scion.com are able to interact with numerous aspects of their newly customized Scion vehicle online. Through Viewpoint's technology, they will be able to "look under the hood" to see the available cold-air induction system, swap out body-side graphics, and add illumination packages. Once the desired accessories are selected, the price of the vehicle dynamically adjusts in real time to reflect the selected equipment levels. The customized vehicle can be saved as a personalized e-brochure that can then be printed and taken or emailed to a Scion dealer.
