Food Network and Meredith Start Cooking

  • May 21, 2003
Cable's Food Network and Meredith Corp., parent company of Better Homes and Gardens and Ladies Home Journal, have teamed to produce a series of cookbooks. Due in the fall, From the Food Network Kitchens promises recipes and tips about shopping, plating and technique.

The book is not the first co-branded title produced in recent years by Meredith. The company has also partnered with Home Depot and HGTV, and has created a series of books bearing the Better Homes and Gardens stamp.

From the Food Network Kitchens is divided into seven chapters, including segments on morning foods, bites, and main courses. "We are so excited to share our knowledge with this first cookbook," said Susan Stockton, VP, culinary production, in a press release. "The people in our kitchens worked extremely hard to make sure this is a book that is both approachable and usable for anyone interested in cooking."

The second book to be released under the Food Network/Meredith agreement is tentatively titled From the Food Network Kitchens: Quick and Easy. It is scheduled for release in Spring 2004.
