Time Redesigns 'Health' Magazine For Web

  • May 16, 2008
Time Inc. subsidiary Southern Progress Corporation is slated to launch a redesigned Health.com, the companion Web site to Health magazine. Starting May 19, Health.com visitors will be greeted with new logos, social networking features, and editorial content that centers on various "health journeys."

According to the Health.com team, the journeys that go live with the launch are seven of the most commonly searched-for health concerns in America: breast cancer, depression, diabetes, heart health, pain management, sexual health and sleep.

"If you take the way a condition is experienced by real people in the real world, and you map it out visually as a series of steps, from symptoms through to survival and coping, what you have is a powerful, easy-to-navigate way of going through a condition," says Health.com Editorial Director Scott Mowbray.

The new content will be a mix of original reporting, patient testimonials, doctors' advice and clinical info. Health.com will also feature video, and at times, will share and refer to content from the print edition.

The site will continue to roll out new features over the next 6-12 months, including a recipe database and message boards.
