Nissan Touts Olympic Cred In Rodale Mags

Nissan AltimaNissan is renewing its partnership with Rodale, extending its "Master the Shift" ad campaign, which offers readers advice from well-known athletes and trainers. The announcement follows the news that the carmaker has been named the official sponsor of the 2008 U.S. National Track and Field Team at this summer's Olympics in Beijing.

Nissan is also the official sponsor of the Eugene '08 Festival, a celebration of athletic prowess that will be held alongside the tryouts for the Olympic track and field team from June 27th-July 6th, in Eugene, Oregon.

The carmaker will tout its Olympic cred in a customized multimedia campaign with ads on the theme "Master the Shift" appearing in the print and online channels of Men's Health, Women's Health, Runner's World, Bicycling, Best Life and Running Times.

The "Master the Shift" ads will feature four famous athletes and trainers--Alberto Salazar, Chris Carmichael, Kathy Kaehler, and Laird Hamilton--promoting their appearances at a series of nine "Master the Shift" events around the country, hosted by Runner's World and sponsored by Nissan.

The events will also be promoted with a custom Web site created by Rodale--offering Webisodes, training videos, a weekly sweepstakes, events listings, and social features.

Rodale will also publish a "Runner's World Championship Guide" for the Eugene tryouts, sponsored exclusively by Nissan, to be distributed regionally in the Northwest, as well as nationally at the "Master the Shift" events.
