Welcome to Jolt, Alaska. To celebrate the summer solstice earlier this week, Jolt Energy renamed Barrow, the northernmost town in the U.S.

In return for the one-day naming rights, Barrow, population 4,065, welcomed a Jolt official who handed out cans of Jolt energy drink to the locals. Calling Jolt "The Official Drink of the Summer Solstice," the idea is that Barrow locals, about 1,000 miles north of Anchorage, might need a little boost to get through their 1992-hour day. Jolt is owned by Wet Planet, LLC, in Rochester, N.Y.; its ad agency is Cenergy, East Aurora, N.Y.
