OrganizedWisdom Health has snagged $2 million in a Series A funding round led by ETF Venture Funds. Noted tech entrepreneurs Esther Dyson and Digitas Health founder Linda Holliday also participated in the round.

The New York-based health search engine eschews the algorithms in favor of human-powered articles and information. OrganizedWisdom Health has tapped nearly 1,000 physicians, patient advocates and health search experts to craft WisdomCards, or pages that contain symptom and treatment info, videos, and links to reference sources for specific health conditions.

The company currently boasts more than 10,000 WisdomCards that cover over 50 health categories, and plans to use the new funds in its quest to have the 50,000 most popular search terms covered within the next 12 months.
