Pushing further into online entertainment, the National Geographic Channel has teamed up with RealNetworks to launch a new games site tailored to the cable channel's content.

The site offers hundreds of downloadable games from RealNetworks organized according to categories such as animals and nature, science and technology, history and events, and exploration and adventure. Featured is a simulation game--"Habitat Rescue! With National Geographic Channel"-in which players must save a group of lions from habitat destruction.

The new gaming property follows the recent redesign of the cable network's site to offer more than 1,000 video clips and full length TV shows across seven broadband channels.--Mark Walsh
