Bebo has named Kelly Brett, who worked on the social network's Web series "KateModern," as head of original productions. Acquired earlier this year by AOL, U.K.-based Bebo has made original productions a signature part of its offering through series that also include "Sophia's Diary" and "The Secret World Of Sam King," which premiered this month.

The online dramas geared to Bebo's youthful audience interweave sponsorships and product placements with plot lines and characters.

Before "KateModern," Kelly worked on over 20 TV productions for the BBC, Sky and ITV, among others. In her new role, she will be responsible for vetting potential projects and building a collaborative relationship with Bebo's production partners and advertisers.--Mark Walsh
