ABC.com Traffic Sets Record

  • April 19, 2001
According to Media Metrix, a record number of 4.5 million visitors came to ABC.com in the month of March, increasing traffic by 13% over last March. The March Media Metrix report also showed average days per visitor per month are up 16% and average minutes spent per visitor up 31% compared to last year. The increased traffic to ABC.com for the month of March was due in large part to the Academy Awards, which aired on the ABC Television Network and were cross promoted on ABC.com, which co-produced Oscar.com, the official site of the 73rd Academy Awards, with the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences. Increased traffic in March can also be attributed to the April Fool's Episode of "The Drew Carey Show," and the successful mid-season comedy launches of "My Wife and Kids," "What About Joan" and "The Job."
