Gaming Company Oberon Media Gets $20 Million

Casual games company Oberon Media has raised $20 million from Infinity Equity's I-China Fund, a venture fund focusing on Israeli-Chinese related opportunities.

New York-based Oberon distributes casual games under the I-play brand across online, mobile and interactive TV platforms as well as through retail outlets. It has forged partnerships with companies including Microsoft, Comcast, Verizon, Electronic Arts and MySpace.

The investment is part of a global strategy for Oberon Media that includes expanding into China. Infinity estimates the country's emerging gaming market at $2 billion annually and 50 million users. The Infinity I-China Fund operates offices in Tel-Aviv, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Suzhou and New York.--Mark Walsh
